Privacy Policy
The short version: Ethereal collects nothing.
What we don't collect
Ethereal has no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising or tracking SDKs. Your settings stay in private on-device storage and vanish on uninstall.
Buying Ethereal Pro
The one-time purchase is handled entirely by Google Play's billing client; we never see your payment details. Google's handling of your payment is covered by Google's privacy policy. The app keeps only an on-device record that Pro is unlocked.
Casting to your TV
If you cast, your phone talks to your own Chromecast on your home network and the TV loads the display page from our website. That connection exists only while you cast, and nothing about it is logged or collected.
Permissions
Ethereal never shows you a runtime permission prompt — the kind Android raises mid-use to ask for your camera, microphone, location, contacts or files. Ethereal asks for none of those.
Google Play's store listing has a separate section headed “This app has access to”. That lists install-time entries declared in the app's manifest: they are granted when the app is installed and never prompt you. In Play's own wording, Ethereal's are:
- Full network access and view network connections — used to reach Google Play's billing service, and — only while you are casting — your own Chromecast device on your home network.
- Google Play licence check — how Google Play tells the app whether your one-time Pro unlock is owned. That conversation is between your device and Google; we run no server of our own and receive nothing.
- Control vibration — the gentle haptic taps as you play.
- Other — an app-private entry that Android's own support libraries add so that only Ethereal can reach Ethereal's internal components. It is a hardening measure, and grants no access to your device or your data.
None of these read, collect or transmit anything personal.
This website
We collect nothing personal here. No accounts, no sign-ups, and no advertising or tracking SDKs. Page loads are counted anonymously — no IP addresses, no identifiers.
The site is served through Cloudflare, and some pages link out to other services such as Google Play and YouTube. Those are covered by their own privacy policies, not this one.
